Hey everyone! This tutorial / picture overview will show you how to utilize GW's texture paint line along with some simple dry-brushing and washing to paint up a quick and easy gaming base for your army!

Review: Miniature Painting Secrets with Jen Haley DVDs

Hey everyone! In an attempt to make good on my promise to keep this blog updated I've decided to just go ahead and post up as much useful (and hopefully entertaining content) as possible over the next few days. This post will include a quick review, recap of the Miniature Painting Secrets with Jen Haley DVDs as well as pictures of a Soda Pop Squall model I personally painted following this DVD! Be sure to read on!

CMON Expo 2014

Hey guys! I figured I'd do a quick recap of the Cool Mini Or Not Expo that I attended this year back in late May. I've also included some pictures of my Crystal Brush entry that I sort of fell into!

Happy Holidays and a quick recap!

Hey people! Well it seems I certainly failed on keeping this blog updated as I had hoped. This year has been quiet crazy for me to say the least. I just recently graduated from university and am now on the job hunt! Over the next few days I'll try to be posting some updates related to small commission works or just models I've painted over the past year but never got the chance to post. I may also do a small recap of the CMON Expo I attended earlier this year as well. Thanks for tuning in and hopefully I can make good on my original plan! - In the meantime, here are some pictures of Ama No Zako from the Malifaux miniature line I painted as a quick table top gaming commission in July I believe. Happy Holidays and I hope your year was one to remember!

Eldar Fire Dragons WIP - Bases

Hey people! Just wanted to give you all a quick update on my Eldar Fire Dragons. I got the go ahead to paint them as the Shrine of the Burning Lance and I'm pretty stoked! I got them all primed up and have the bases about 95% done - the only thing left is to put some snow on them - but that will have to wait until the rest of the models are completely done. I'm hoping to have some orange on them by the end of tomorrow so expect another update soon.

Old CMON Model - Librarian Turmiel

Hey guys! I decided I would post up an old mini I painted a little over a year ago. I was trying my hand at a couple techniques with some new paints I had just acquired - including some NMM gold and some light source effects seen on the hand and grenades. The pictures don't quiet pick everything up (especially the shading/highlighting of the armor) but I'm happy with how it turned out for a test model, and even happier that it currently has an 8.3 rating. Sorry if the pictures are not quiet up to par as this was my old camera and light set up, but I figured some of you might still enjoy taking a look!

How to Make a Scenic Base - Step By Step

Hey again! In this tutorial I will show you some basics on making scenic bases for your miniatures. This can be done rather easily, and can add a little something extra to your tabletop or display piece to make it really stand out! I will be going over the materials I usually use, as well as provide pictures of what each stage should look like.

How to Paint Power Swords - Step by Step

Hello again everyone! In this post I'll be going over how to paint nice blue power swords that you see on many Space Marine / Grey Knight models. I will go over each step individually as well as provide pictures to make it a little easier to understand.

Eldar Fire Dragons Commission WIP

Hey everyone! Sorry for such a long delay between my posts. Classes were pretty hectic last semester, and I'm starting to feel the heat again this spring too - but I'm hoping to actually keep up with this blog! I hope to add at least 3-4 posts a week ranging from WIP (like this one) to step by step tutorials from techniques to entire models.
I am also very happy to show everyone my new and improved photography light box. I know the pictures from my first post are quiet dark - I hope to re post an image of the finalized White Scar Space Marine I painted up last September so everyone can get a better look at what the tutorial will give you.
Alright, sorry for the block of text but I have quiet a lot of catching up to do. Without further ado - here are the nice and shiny pewter Fire Dragons I'll be working on for the next few weeks. I'm pretty excited as I hope I'll be painting them as the Shrine of the Burning Lance scheme (found in WD322) if my client decides on that of course. Stay tuned for updates on my progress and feel free to ask any questions about how I painted them in my future posts!
